The star of the show at this Sotheby's sale is John Constable's "The Lock", estimated between 8 and 12 million GBP. It will be the last lot to be auctionned. The sale also includes works by 40 additional artists.

Sotheby's doesn't have any ownership interest in the works presented. Only one work has a guarantee backed by a third party: Jan Gossaert's "The virgin and child", estimated between 4 and 6 million GBP.

Out of the four lots over 1 million GBP, two were mentioned above. The remaining lots include Sir Anthony Van Dyck's "Portrait of Queen Henrietta Maria", estimated between 1.5 and 2.5 million GBP and Gaspar Van Wittel's "Florence, a View of the City from the Right Bank ...", estimated between 1.0 and 1.5 million.

Together, the lots over 1 million GBP make up 10% of the number of lots, but 67% of the value of lots.
